Dear Lebron,
It’s been a long time since I’ve actually wanted to say anything towards you but I feel compelled as a Sports Historian and purist to throw my hat in before the Free Agent Talks begin in less than 9 hours from now.
I bleed the Knicks Blue and Orange and I have had so many disappointments as a fan over the past 38 years. I was 2 years old the last time the Knicks won the NBA Title so that doesn’t count for me as #1. Growing up as a little kid, I wanted to play at the Garden one day.

My dream was to play for Georgetown and Coach Thompson in the late 80s. The epic battles and the 1984 title cemented that love for the Garden when they’d come to town every year and during the Big East Tournament. When Patrick went to the Knicks I gave them 4 years to win the title. In 1994 we were 1 possession away from winning it all, I could taste the title and see the trophy in Patrick Ewings’ hands. A missed 3 and a bad Game 7 spelled doom , A 5 game beat down to the Spurs and were going on Year 37 without a crown to wear.

I’ve seen you play football in person at SVSM back in the day when all the talk was about this kid who can play 2 sports and which 1 will he’d pick! Lebron left the Field for the Hardwood which was the first unexpected move by Lebron..

Then it was the Adidas ABCD camp in Teaneck, NJ almost a decade ago just beyond the reach of the shadows on the New York City skyline. A boy became a man in just 4 days when in that 1 on 1 match up vs Lenny Cooke you took away his heart and as we all know it was time to watch Nationally Televised games of SVSM so that we could see one of the greatest HS athletes ever destroy the competition. You were celebrated by the National Media as the “Next Coming” of the Truth!

The Patrick Ewing Era came to an end and the Knicks last attempt at a title with Spree, LJ, Pat and the rest of the crew came to a screeching halt at the hands of the Spurs. Ever since 1999 the Knicks have been off the radar and have been planning their vacations as early as 1 day after the season ends.

History repeats itself and the next big move you had to make was to declare for the draft out of high school and what sneaker company would be the best fit for you and for the King James Brand. Luckily you selected Nike who was a Dark Horse (Music Please DJ Go NY, Go NY, GO!) in the running when it seemed as if the 3 stripes which you wore exclusively in High School would be your shoe of choice.
Then came 6 seasons trying to take your team to that next level, 2 MVP’S and 1 NBA Finals Trip later it’s time to think about why New York is the best place to win a title.
1. New York City (The Biggest Stage on the Planet)
2. 1973 is a long time to wait for a title and a banner to be raised in the Garden
3. You can now change to #6 without there being a problem
4. You’re a Yankees Fan and we’ll throw in Season Tickets.
5. A ticker tape parade only happens in New York.
6. You can retire here
7. Multiple Titles
8. Cell Phone Number begins in 346
9. You get to stay in the Eastern Conference
10. The Fans are the most loyal and will cheer you on to VICTORY.

In Numerology this is a sign that your Jersey will hang here in the rafters 1+5 =6 the next number you want to wear Lebron
I can write a Novel as to why you should come here from Cultural, Economic, and hundreds of charities, causes and the Super Bowl.
There is a reason why New York is the place you should come Lebron.
We are hard working people who believe in hard working players who want to win!
Lastly we want the best to play for the best city in all of the N.B.A. .
When You win it in New York Lebron It will look like this….
Can’t wait to see you in the Blue and Orange

70 Years of waiting for the Knicks to win a Title!!!!
